Places on our 'open bus' challenges are ideal for individuals or small groups and cost £250 per person. We run 'open bus' challenge events frequently throughout the season,. Group / private bookings  are £2400 per team with up to 12 places available, working out to £200 per person.  Use the calendars on  the 'Book Now' page to check on availability and book online.

For larger groups you can book in multiple teams. Alternatively for large events we can operate our mountain marshal package which can significantly reduce the cost per person.

Each season, we help hundreds of people successfully complete  the 3 Peaks Challenge within 24 hours. We transport and guide individuals,

groups of friends,  charity and corporate groups, whether for charity fundraising or just for fun.

Our mountain leaders and drivers know the challenge inside out, they want you to succeed and will do all in their powers  to maximise your chances of successfully completing within 24 hours

Transport is a critical part of the challenge, we transport you between all of the mountains and a huge advantage we have over other companies is that we do not outsource this element to a third party.

We guarantee to run an open challenge even if not enough people have booked to make it financially viable for us.

Transport and accommodation

Typically we collect from Glasgow Central Train Station, International Airport or nearby hotel at lunchtime, the drive to Ben Nevis is 2.5 hours and we aim to start the challenge at around 3 pm. Finishing 24 hours later at 3 pm the following day we then drop off at Chester station or nearby hotel for people to travel home.

We find that this works well as the challenge can be completed over a weekend and there is no need for accommodation which keeps the cost down. Alternatively some people choose to arrive the evening before and perhaps also stay over the night after the challenge and travel home again the next day.

What is the 3 Peaks Challenge

There is nearly half a century of tradition involved with the challenge and lots of variations in style. The typical challenge involves climbing.

  • Ben Nevis, Scotland's biggest mountain at 1344 meters.
  • Scafell Pike England's biggest mountain at 978 meters.
  • Snowdon, the biggest mountain in Wales at 1085 meters.

To complete the classic 24 hour challenge you must start at the foot of Ben Nevis and finish at the foot of Snowdon having reached all three summits.

The Challenge covers around 40 km of horizontal distance and over 3000 m. of ascent, all in 24 hrs. with limited sleep. The challenge is tough and you need to be fit.

Safety

We are based in the Lake District the "Adventure Capital" of England: A place where many professional mountaineers and guides make their home, this means we have managed to bring together a team of dedicated, qualified, professional and experienced people to work with us.

All of our team hold National Governing Body qualifications and are certified by the MTA (Mountain Training Association). some are also members of local mountain rescue teams.  They have the experience necessary to look after people in the most extreme of environments and conditions and  have spent their working lives guiding and instructing  mountaineering and climbing, both in the UK and around the world.

We have significant experience and expertise when it comes to organising and looking after people on these types of events.
